State-of-the-art technologies of the imagePRESS color series offer you offset-like quality and maximum productivity.
Dual fusing for constant speed
With dual fusing technology the imagePRESS VP digital color presses reach maximum speed on all supported media weights - 70 ipm and 60 ipm for media up to 300 gsm. Heavy and coated media pass through two fusing stations while light, plain papers are fused once. This media-oriented fusing mechanism provides output with an optimal and consistent gloss finish for an offset lock-and-feel.
Advanced air feeding technologies for reliable productivity
The imagePRESS systems' advanced feeding technologies include vacuum feed and air separation for reliable feeding of different paper types; including uncoated and coated stocks and paper weights of 64 to 300 gsm. Dehumidification heaters in all production trays ensure that highly static coated media is correctly fed also in humid environments all to ensure your digital color press keeps running and production disturbances are prevented.
Real-time automatic color calibration for your peace of mind
Consistent and predictable high color quality is a prerequisite for successful color business. The imagePRESS color series employs several advanced technologies to ensure just that. Automatic and Reciprocal Color Density Adjustment Technology (ARCDAT) detects the density of color patches on the photoconductor drum to calibrate at all lines per inch in real time. This ensures reliable and consistent output quality and peace of mind for even the most demanding operator.
For quick, periodic adjustments the digital color presses of the imagePRESS series measures color patches on the actual media with a color toner density sensor in the post-fusing process. So no printing and scanning of test prints is needed to perform calibration - as required for many other systems -, which simplifies the calibration process.
Active registration for professional end products
Many print products such as brochures and manuals require duplex printing. The imagePRESS color series meets this
need with automatic duplex production on all supported media of up to 300 gsm. But it is not only about the fact that automatic duplexing is possible but also how it is performed. Front-to-back registration has a direct impact on your end product. In the imagePRESS systems, active registration aligns the media with the side base plate and registration patches are used to align page and image orientation more precisely and at a faster speed. Intelligent Registration Technology (ITR) guarantees high registration accuracy and you always deliver a perfect end product.
